What is a wastewater disposal system

causes health problems, spread diseases, as well as create foul odors

and leave unsightly messes.

 

How to maintain your wastewater disposal system

· Pump out min. of every three years or as needed

· Have your system inspected

· Upgrade your system with access risers and a filter

· Clean your septic filter

· Check for and repair leaking faucets and toilets

 

Preventing Malfunctions

· Conserve water

· Do not do all the laundry in one day (Spread it out)

· Do not use bleach or heavy household chemicals

· Only human waste and toilet paper should be flushed

· Do not install a garbage disposal

· Prevent rainwater from collecting on wastewater disposal system

· Do not drive or park cars or heavy equipment over the wastewater disposal system

· Do not plant trees or shrubs near the wastewater disposal system

 

Signs of a Malfunctioning Wastewater disposal system

· Toilet runs sluggish

· The sound of gurgling in the pipes

· Sewer odors in the house or in the yard

· Wet areas/really green areas in the yard around the wastewater disposal system

· Surfacing of raw sewage

· Alarm sounds frequently

· Backup of sewage into the house
